Shibao Mountain is located 25 kilometers southwest of Jianchuan County, Yunnan Province, and is named Shibao because the red sandstone on the mountain is cracked in the shape of a tortoise, like a lion or an elephant or a bell. It is one of the 44 key scenic spots announced by the State Council, and is an important part of Dali Scenic Spot.
