Qiongzhu Temple is located in the western suburbs of Kunming, Yunnan Province, 12 kilometers from the city, and is the first temple where Chinese Buddhism was introduced to Yunnan. The temple was built during the Tang and Song dynasties. It was restored twice during the Qianlong and Guangxu periods of the Qing Dynasty.
The five hundred Lohans of Qiongzhu Temple is in the corner of the Daxiongbao Hall is a decree made in the third year of the Yuan dynasty, Yanyou, in which emperor command, the abbot of the temple, was appointed as the "head monk" and asked the officials and the people to protect it and to give it to the storage of the Dazang Sutra.
The temple is a key national monastery in the Han area, and the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
