Yunnan Ethnic Village is located in the southwest suburbs of Kunming, Yunnan Province, on the shore of Dianchi Pond, covering an area of 89 hectares, and is a window reflecting and displaying the social and cultural customs of twenty-six ethnic groups in Yunnan, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, an ethnic cultural base of the National People's Committee, a folk traditional cultural base of the CIOFF China Committee and one of the first national ethnic work contact points of the National People's Committee.
Yunnan Ethnic Village, covers an area of 1264.96 acres, including 463.96 acres of water area. Set Yunnan's major Dai, Bai, Yi, Naxi, Wa, Brown, Jinuo, Lahu, Tibetan, Jingpo, Hani, De'ang, Zhuang, Miao, Shui, Nu, Mongolian, Buyi, Dulong, Lisu, Pumi, Manchu, Hui, Yao, Achang and other 25 minority villages, ethnic singing and dancing halls, ethnic plazas, Yunnan Ethnic Museum and laser fountains, the Water curtain movie and other tourism facilities. The ethnic villages use restoration displays to showcase Yunnan's ethnic customs. The village is a microcosm of Yunnan's ethnic culture, with a variety of ethnic villages in different styles, each with its own style, and the colorful village architecture, production, life, and religious customs of each ethnic minority are displayed.
The main gate of Yunnan Ethnic Village is an imposing set of steel-framed buildings. In the center is a golden peacock logo, symbolizing the good fortune and prosperity of Yunnan Ethnic Village. In front of the main gate is a wide and flat square for people to gather and disperse, and in the lawn below is a group of white elephant sculptures called "White Elephant Welcoming Guests".
The scenic area of Yunnan Ethnic Village is interspersed with water and land, fresh and elegant, and the attractions of each village are staggered. There are green paths, pavilions and corridors, arched bridges and stone steps connected to each other, and connected to the Dianchi Lakeside Avenue at the beginning and end.
Visitors to the village can learn about the architectural styles, costumes and customs of Yunnan's ethnic groups, as well as watch laser fountains, water screen movies, folk songs and dances, and elephant shows. Guides dressed in ethnic costumes provide guided tours and explain the customs of each minority group. The mysterious solar calendar pillar square in the Yi village connected with the sky and the red palm house connected with the earth show the ancient and open-minded civilization of this nation; the bamboo and grass-roofed grand public house of the Jinuo people; the creation myth of the Lahu gourd makes you see what is "the great gourd of the mysteries of the universe".
