Diqing Red Army Long March Museum is located in the north side of Riyue Square, Dukesong Old Town, Shangri-La County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and is a special museum made to commemorate the Red Army's entry into Diqing Prefecture after crossing the Jinsha River during the Long March in 1936. On August 20, 2007, the museum was completed and opened. The name of the museum was inscribed by General Xiao Ke, and 74 descendants of the Red Army, including He Xiaoming, daughter of Marshal He Long, attended the opening ceremony. Museum construction area of 2400 square meters. By the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, the provincial government awarded "patriotism education base in Yunnan Province", "national defense education base" of the Diqing Red Army Long March Museum is open to the public free of charge.
