Yuanyang Terraces is located in the southern part of the Wailun Mountains in Yuanyang County, Yunnan Province.It is a masterpiece left behind by the Hani people for generations. The Yuanyang Terraces are the core area of the Honghe Hani Terraces. Honghe Hani Terraces are a marvel of terraced farming civilization created by the people of various ethnic groups, mainly the Hani, using the special geographical climate to reclaim the terraces together, with a magnificent scale and grandeur. The terraced fields of the Hani people in Yuanyang change with the topography of the mountains, the slope of the slow land is large to cultivate large fields, the steep land is small to cultivate small fields, and even the ditch can be under the stone gap also open fields, so the terraced fields are several acres, the small is only dustpan large, often a slope there are thousands of acres.
Honghe Hani terraces are located in the southern part of Yunnan Province, spread over four counties of Yuanyang, Honghe, Jinping and Luchun in Honghe Prefecture, with a total area of about 1 million mu, and 170,000 mu of terraces in Yuanyang County alone. The terraced rice fields in Yuanyang County alone have 170,000 mu of terraced rice fields. The Hani people have been "carving" the landscape and idyllic scenery for more than 1,300 years. On June 22, 2013, the 37th session of the World Heritage General Assembly, the Red River Hani Terraces were successfully inscribed on the World Heritage List, becoming China's 45th World Heritage Site, making China the second largest World Heritage Site after Italy, surpassing Spain.
In February 2020, in order to pay tribute to the majority of health care workers fighting in the front line of prevention and control, since the end of the epidemic until December 31, 2020, the scenic area of the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas) all health care workers with valid documents to implement the policy of free tickets.
